MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
Play as a flying ghost version of Alita and shoot the attacking ghosts with your gun or smack them with a harisen.
Gun has range but harisen has a stronger attack.

Got mouse/aiming issues because of the mousecursor going "outside the flash frame"?

Yukito should release a Gunnm fighting game, with beat'em up and RPG elements. Or maybe we should... there are free programs that amateur developers use to create video games... or we can even Mod existing games.
How about this Alita mod from Oni: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt_81uMW4VQ
Alita is kicking some ass in this video game.

There was that Martian Memory RPG with fighting elements, lots of it.

Yeah, but that game was completely in Japanese. And the Space/Mars saga at the end of the game has become non-canon, due to Last Order. There was that Martian Memory RPG with fighting elements, lots of it.
I ask... Why don't we make our own Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita game?
Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
Sure why not...but...
- What game engine?
Since its going to be fan-based it should be somewhat easy to use and learn while not from 1999.
- Graphics...we need someone who can draw/make sprites.
- 3d modeling of the characters, mooov?
- Voices / Sounds
- And of course the most important of all...What sort of game?
Hack&Slash in the scrapyard either in 3D or a 2D scroller
A ZOTT tournament in the style of Mortal Kombat.
Adventure game style/RPG like the PS1 game
Dating sim where you have to either score with Alita, Elf, Zwolf or have a bad ending where you end up being Desty Nova's slave bitch.
Or maybe just a fun little Flash-based game
And then...the need of free time and dedication.
Games don't emerge over the course of a few months...
And i think that last one is where the pinch will be.
Still if there are enough people able/willing/enthusiastic and we can get some groundwork done looking if its viable, then why not?

I can help with the 3d modeling.
I've stopped 5 years ago, but I did that as a hobby for 10 years and a few months as a profession.
But as Ripper pointed out, time, dedication and the game direction are of essence here.
I've done some 3d models for free for some game mods in the past, people came and left the projet all the time, at the end, there was nothing left...
Let's see who's up to what first, skillset and all that.

Gilsand can do FMVs, if he's willing to.
What about a motorball racer with something beyond kick attacks and the same course and opponents?

Like this: http://www.scirra.com/
Made this: http://www.scirra.com/arcade/games/addi ... es/495/mag
HTML 5, could be fun making a simple side scrolling game.
I think if we made something we should start with something simple....not remaking counterstrike...
Others, just google "game creator"
Results like: http://www.engine001.com/

Guys, the famous and awesome (Gears of war, Bioshock, UT3, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Bulletstorm, and hundreds of others) Unreal Engine 3 is now completely free for non-commercial projects.
And I've heard of a Unity engine, which is a trend now, but I won't recommend it simply because UE3 is available.
However, I don't think I will be able to participate - I'm really busy until... I don't know. I've explained everything in a 3d topic post.
Also, I don't beleive in success of this idea - simply because of lack of resources, hands, interested people, and copyright issues. There is no point in making a low quality thing - it's a fans-for-fans project, so the quality has to be really high.
Also, I don't see any plot/storyline, which can be adapted into a game. Needless to say, that any kind of adaptation is quite unpleasant, and inventing the plot from scratch is a heresy.
I'm quite sceptic about this idea, but I want to see how it will turn out. If this will start growing, I will consider joining if I'll have spare time.

Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
Mugun. At first i read it "Mugen". And this is not random. M.U.G.E.N. is a popular fighting game engine.
I think it's a good way to create a fighting game.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.G.E.N
It has all kind of editors tested for ages. There lot's of characters created by community's. To create a character you basically need only sprites. In special editor you assign body parts and hit parts(it's easy but boring). Sprite can be done by painting and 2d animation, or from 3d models rendered in right way. Also you can do background. For example in my opinion, ZOT arena is pretty easy to creating by 3D modelling(maybe in some time i could help with it).

Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
Well, if you guys need some help with the coding, I can definitively help.
I also know a couple game engines we could use depending on what you guys want to do. I'd say go with 2D as it is so MUCH easier to deal with at this scale.

A third (and possibly the most featured) option for 3d game is, of course, Cryengine 3 which has also been released free for non-commercial use.
Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
Sorry for bumping, but just found this:

Instead of making an entire new game, why not just use mods for everyone in SSF4?

Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
That's Chun li, right?
I would think Gally's more of a Cammy in term of gameplay, but hey, still amazing work from the modder there.

Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
That's Cammy actually, I also think she is the most *closest* representation of Gally in the game.

Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
oh, that's hella sweet then. Is that mod available somewhere? Is that usable on the first version of the game?
Re: MUGUN shooting game on Yukito.com
Is for Super Street Fighter 4 only (I think) and that pic is just a WIP, when the author release the full mod I'm going to post it here
