Page 9

K: Doctor Ido...

K: Scuse me!!

K: Doctor Ido is a man who could save thousands of lives...

K: I can't let him die in such a place!!

Ido: a cyberphysician who lost his memories. He is doubting if his real identity is Nova or not.

Kayna: a young female cyborg working at Ido's medical house. She's a Capoeira master and Ido's nurse and bodyguard.

Page 10

Dr. Rivet: a scientist who developed the Socket Soldiers and others during the Barjack war.
After the end of the war, he carries out the rehabilitation of the sick and wounded soldiers.

R: Returning to the medical house is dangerous.

R: It's only a suggestion, but

R: let's cross the reservoir with a boat and find shelter in my “Sunflower Garden”.

R: It's a modest place, but there are weapons and even vehicles we can use to escape.

K: It frustrates me to accept your plan, but...

K: for now, that’s our best bet.

K: Figure, I leave Doctor Ido to you.

F: Where do ya intend to go, Kayna!?

K: To the medical house...there's a useless thing I want to take no matter what.

F: Wait!!

Nova: a genius scientist who created the supertheory called Karmatron Dynamics that governs even fate. Not bound by the concepts of morality or common sense, he causes trouble everywhere.

Page 11

K: Thanks...but those feelings are enough.

K: I can’t let someone like you, here by chance, babysit me.

F: But...

K: I’m not desperate enough to need protection from an in-patient.

K: It's not as if those thugs would kill little 'ol me, Kayna, the capoera* nurse, right?!!

*Capoera: Incorrect spelling. Kayna should have said capoeira. An unarmed fighting discipline of Brazilian origin. It makes use of many different elaborate and acrobatic foot techniques.

GLO 116

Page 7
Soldier: Did you hear “Nova” now!? (verb here)

Page 8
Soldier: There's a hospital over here. (structure)

Page 10
let's cross the reservoir with a boat and find shelter in my “Sunflower Garden”. (verb)
R: It's a modest place, but there are weapons and even vehicles we can use to escape. (missing comma)
K: for now, that's the best option. (missing comma)
Nova: a genius scientist who created the supertheory called Karmatron Dynamics that governs even fate. Not limited by common sense or morals at all, he causes troubles in various places. (compound; structure)

Page 11
*kapoera (Capoeira): the correct spell is “kapoeira”. This construction does not make sense. Does it mean the spelling is kapoera, capoeira or kapoeira, after all? No matter what, both in Portuguese (where the word comes from) and in English, the only authorized spelling is exactly capoeira. I suggest to change this entire expression to capoeira, simply.

Kayna spells it wrong as kapoera. She's basically missing the "i" in japanese.
That's why Kishiro puts the note for the correct japanese spelling: ka-po-e-i-ra and between () puts the correct english spelling.

Maybe we could use something like this:

Kapoera (Capoeira): the correct japanese spelling is “kapoeira”.

I see. Make Kayna say capoera, simply, and then put the note:

Capoera: Incorrect spelling. Kayna should have spoken capoeira.

[By the way: although I am completely illiterate in Japanese, I am aware that, when using romaji for a foreign word, they simply repeat the original spelling. Thus, they would never spell kapoeira, but capoeira, simply.]

Updated.

Well...not always they use the precise spelling of the original word. Sometimes they simplify the sound, other times they take the spelling not from the source language, but most of the times they get things right.

Kapoeira with the k 'cause the romaji group signs for k+vowels is the same for c+vowels.
For a Japanese guy ther's no problem at all, but when you translate, someone who doesn't know what that word is could
go with both kapoeria and capoeira. That's why Kishiro puts in Japanse text the correct English spelling.

It's like with Kaerura. First time I saw it I translated her as Kaella, then I set for Caella and then...I remembered kaerura was a latin word...
and you got Caerula that goes so well with her surname (and it has a combined meaning too).

And that's that.
