Alita's bootleg?

Post by kamugin »

Found this card game in a bookstore near my house and couldn't help to notice the strong resemblance the nameless character pictured in the box had to our darling Alita, more exactly when she was still a hunter warrior Image
Well, intentional or not, it's nice art.

If the image doesn't open, here is the link https://flic.kr/p/vAQS9r

Timeline. I know the game. It's basically a game in which u have to figure which historic even happened ealrier ad which later, with major and minor event, discovery and inventions sometimes separated but from a few years.

Nothing that could be related to Alita, but the resembrance in that cover is strong.

Are there more illustrations of that girl in the cards? I don't know since I haven't bought it. Thank you.

Actually, in the edition i've see, there is no picture of her. It has a minimal layout with a flat colors with no image apart the cards illustrations.

But if u brose it on google there are several covers with that girl.

That's where I found it. It seems to be a good game for youngsters.

Haven't visited this forum for a year or two (and even forgot about this manga's existence) - I've logged in just to post this thing.

It's a cheap (~4$) whiskey I saw in a local booze shop and photoed, because it seems funny. Of course, it's not related to the manga.

Forgotten? After all the works you have done? Difficult to believe.
By the way, I am releasing a Portuguese language version of Gunnm, and I took the liberty of including your work as a bonus [http://quadrinhosinglorios.blogspot.com ... chuva.html]. I hope you don't mind.

As to the whiskey, I am curious. Have you tasted it?

Welcome back, moooV, I was wondering where you could be. Have you moved to China by now?

Nice to see you again, guys.
Yep, so much stuff has happened (and is still happening), that manga, this forum, and you guys feel like something from another life right now.

I've changed my occupation completely (it's funny, but I'm doing 3d stuff professionally now), tried opening my business several times, dropped a PhD degree in computer science, got an mba degree as a second education (I have two master's degrees now - computer science and economics), moved to another end of the country to make my girlfriend happy (to Vladivostok, which is her home city, it's near Japan and is 300km away from the North Korea, lol), lost nearly all of my friends, many of my relatives refused me, I'm in a search for my father (the insane summer and tens of thousand km flights await me), and I wish to emigrate before the iron curtain closes again so I'm going to try my best and make some stuff I can get noticed with an invited somewhere (I'm thinking of making a short 3d film of my own ideas, but I don't have enough spare time for it).
So much crazy stuff that has happened, it's easy to forget about relatively insignificant things like the manga I liked.

What about the images - use them as you wish, of course.

What about the whiskey: it's a 38% alcohol brandy (I've zoomed the label in) and I didn't taste it - I don't like strong alcohol (especially I can't stand cognac-like stuff), I was there to grab several beers - just noticed the label and made a photo.

And, China - I've spent some time there (Beijing, Macau, Hong Kong) and came to understanding that it's not my thing. It's awesome there, but I'm more like a western type of person, so it's totally alien for me there (especially Beijing).
