The information revealed in chapter 15 is significant when you tie it to how the video game Gunnm Martian Memory ended. This is how I put it together, just from what I know about Gunnm Martian Memory (possibly big spoilers):

This I am quite confident is true:
1.)Gally is a Maske Tumor.

The Maske Tumors are a plot element recycled from Gunnm Martian Memory. In the video game, Gally turns out to be one of those tumors which turned into a fully developed human head. This explains why she always had a robotic body.

These I am less confident are true, but things make more sense if they are true:
2.)Gally's "mother" is the Maske Tumor-infected, real Queen of Mars.

That's at least who her "mother" was in Martian Memory. There's not that much to support this theory, but there were hints about the existence of a fake Martian Queen at the beginning of the series.

3.)The real Queen of Mars is Dasein. She is responsible for the Einherjar, the bounty hunters after Gally, the assassination attempt on Limeira, and the Terraforming Wars. She is also looking for the Immortal Nostrum.

This is just assuming that this plotpoint is going to be kept from Martian Memory.

In Martian Memory, it turned out that the real Queen of Mars ("Brain Queen") was the string-puller and responsible for the Terraforming Wars on Mars. She hated Gally and was also looking for immortality.

4.)Baron Muster's enemy is Dasein.

From this recent chapter, we know Baron Muster's enemy is connected to both the Maske Tumors and the Immortal Nostrum. It sounds like he is not looking for the Immortal Nostrum just to cure himself, but to carry out revenge. Maybe this is because his enemy is also looking for the Immortal Nostrum.

So, assuming point 3 is true, it follows that Baron Muster's enemy is the Brain Queen and Dasein.

Although, he is using plot elements from the video game, I'm glad he didn't reject them entirely, as I though the video game had some good ideas, can't wait to see how he will surprise us.

I can't help but think Dasein is not Tiger sauer, but Mozer Schneider, as he sounds like one of the characters that will be significant later on along with his five other best students. Hope Schneider will play a bigger role and make a physical appearance. Speculating about the plot can be fun.

The real queen of Mars is not the one that was responsible for the bounty hunters after Gally. The bounty hunters were hired by Porwit, the secretary from the Cydonia dukedom, but she was killed by Muster.
I wonder though if is connected to Grunthal.

I don't think Muster is behind the bounty hunters send after Alita. I was wondering though if the Papagai army was sent out just to kill Ninon. Could it be that the bounty hunters after Alita and the dead of Ninon are related?

Oh, I don't think Muster is behind the bounty hunters either. He's the one who interfered with their attempt to capture her for some reason. So it's likely that his enemy is the one who is behind the bounty hunters.

The second thing you said is definitely a possibility.

youngred's theories sound interesting, but I agree with Sergio - the whole idea around the Maske tumour is/would be too weird for me, and I don't particularly want to see Alita turn out to be a tumour...

I think it's time to disprove the possibility of Alita being a maske tumor, through out the whole series when we see Alita's brain there was no signs of maske tumor, it looked very healthy. plus the baron mentions those freaks don't even have vocal cords or tracheae. Making Alita part of the maske tumor unlikely.

Also I think the person that wants yoko deceased, is possibility lady Kaguya since she is related to the secretary and the cydonia kingdom.

Further thoughts Alita in this current timeline is 3 years old, the baron mentions planning his revenge at least 10 year, making that scenario of Yoko being part of those freaks impossible.

For one, we don't know if the tumors can develop consciousness. There is a line of dialogue that suggests that it is a possibility.

As a child, the only organic part of Alita's body was her head. This means that she actually didn't have a trachea or vocal cords, as these parts are cybernetic.

If Alita was originally a Maske Tumor, she wouldn't have any abnormalities on her brain. She would just always require a cybernetic body, because she would not develop a human body on her own.

Alita's age doesn't really matter in this circumstance. She could have been grown and extracted at any time while the Baron was plotting his revenge.

Mmmm.. i hate u guy, i had to go back and check every single panels with Muster in. Why? To be sure:

None of those Maske Tumors actually grows from/upon another tumor.

So, maybe, if a Maske Tumor grows to form a whole head and that head get severed, the head itself is not affected by MT Syndrom. No assumption based upon Gally's healt may be conclusive then.

And by the way, we never know that portion of baby-yoko is biological. She has a whole cyborg body, that means that her head might be biological and attached to the artificial neck (as, for istance, Jugo in his final hours), partially artificial (as for Gonzu) or interely artificial ad for later age Gally, who has a ceramite artifical skull and a, uh? Silicon? face. So if baby-yoko orginated as a MT, she might have been just a face with a full brain and not a full head out of somewhere in the body.

But, to further speculate, all Muster's Tumors look like mature men face (possibly, deformed versions of his own face, out of his dna?) Yet, Yoko's face is definately a child's one, so, should she have been a MT out of a 6 years old girl's body? Or, if her brain was from a grown woman's MT looking like a grown woman, why would anyone have putted that brain in a baby looking cyborg body and not in an adult one?

I'm intrigued by the possibility.
