Paper translations are butchered, reversed left-right, resized down and badly cut on the margins.

why would you pay for that ?

The English translations are read right to left (kind of funny when I try to read an english comic right after....). They are good, and Yukito deserves your money.

With the movie coming, it is just a matter of time. I imagine we have a way to go, as the large style books seem to be the deal now.

Anyone know the standard large page count and how far into MarsC we are? I doubt it would fill a whole one yet.

I suggest everyone to send emails to Kodansha USA (kam at kamsf dot com )asking for Mars Chronicle.
I do that once in a while. It has never solved, anyway.
I believe that if many full their mail box, they will have to decide.

It seems that the first issue of Mars chronicles will be released in France in October.
Usually it's from the english release so I suppose that one shouldn't be too far apart.

Also there will be a new release of the original series??? Again?
Do any of you know about what is this new series? Is that a new one do to the new japanese aditor?

There is no info here: http://kodanshacomics.com/

By the way, where have you seen the original series is about to be rereleased? I do believe everything will be available once the film is about to go to the theaters, but right now the silence is irritating.

So, Mars Chronicles tome 1 is out in France.
Ordered it, not received yet.

The new edition of Gunnm is actually the first series, but in a new format, no direct translation of sfx, just footnoted which is actually the standard now, and the japanese sens of reading. Too bad I already have the orginial ones...

Is this the French release of Mars Chronicles? Mangas in France are still mirrored?

Everything is normal now, japanese reading direction, not badly cutted anymore, even onomatopoeia are just footnoted. For both Mars chronicles and this new first series version. Even color pages in this first version !! But not in mars chronicles...

I kept submitting questions to Kodansha USA's Tumblr for most of 2016 in the nicest way possible. Well, they finally replied near the end of the year or so. I find it odd that fans of Vinland Saga would cuss them out and even call them the worst publishers when that manga's publication was falling into doubt but they would respond to those at the speed of light. Well, all they told me is that they can't answer my question about Mars Chronicle.

Maybe the negotiations with Kishiro aren't going too well. Thank you for the update. Not that I'm caring too much now, I'm not sure if will keep collecting unless this arch becomes interesting and exciting.

Well, I send email after email, and every time they inform a new release in Facebook I ask the same question: "Any ETA on Gunnm Mars Chronicle?"
They don't give a shit, simply. Considering that they are the same publishing group (they are all Kodansha), this is simply unacceptable. I even sent them a message saying that once they are not interested, they should give the title back to Viz. They gave no answer, obviously.

I hope the new film will make them change their minds. I don't want to hate them since they publish many good manga titles but it's frustrating how they have seemingly abandoned Gunnm.

You're welcome. I hope that isn't the case and it's something like they are waiting for more volumes to come out in Japan first or they are waiting for the new movie to see if it generates more interest.

Actually you have a point here. They may be waiting for the movie to be released to boost the sales and release the new arch short after.
