"United Republic of Mars"? Really?
So, I figured if Mars was in it, it would just be the Yoko + Erica in the minefield bit. That's all we get for, what, the first decade of the comic? It's a nice clue that there's a lot more to Alita than just some cyborg that got dumped on the scrap heap. Maybe as a towards-the-end-ofthe-movie teaser.
But if they have a whole polity worked out, and making them all have the big eyes makes it a racial thing... it's hard to see it fitting into the general Hugo (or even Motorball) plot. The alternative being it is a superfluous distraction.
Hmmm.

I hope they show mars as a warzone though as from last order & mars chronicle they aren't very "united".
One thing I'm noticing with drip of sxsw alita articles is the fact that just because it takes place in north america doesn't mean that demographics are same as today if anything I'd say gunnm is spacefaring but apocalyptic event happened while our planetary colonies thrived so earth technically is very very different situation than today.

Mars, really? Then I hope Muster is in the movie too!

The Hell is here, life itself is hell and humans are at the same time the demons and the damned.

Yeah to see him suffer a humiliating and horrible deathkamugin wrote:Mars, really? Then I hope Muster is in the movie too!

Re: Scriptwriter confirms Mars is in film
No way, man! Nova must die in the first movie, so Muster will be the main villain of the sequel.00_unit wrote: Yeah to see him suffer a humiliating and horrible death

We are talking seriously here, manzwolfbar wrote:Maybe we'll hear about hershey the big dog in a flashback while playing with a shoestring lol.

Another good idea would be having Erica appear as a motorball player. That would be great!
