more mysteries and questions than answers, wonder where the plot is going, I am glad the next chapter will be out much earlier. This arc will definitely be better than the last one.
Also I notice they mention Kuan, is that a typo from Kishiro or something because I thought the name is Kuang.
A positive note the art looks much better when compared to the first chapter of mars chronicles the pages look too white, not enough shading and the line work was too thin.

How curious. In GUNNM we have Gally. In Last Order, we no longer have Gally (As a matter of fact, we have AR 13, unofficially). Now in Mars Chronicles we again have Gally, but this time she a useless spectator. Let's face it. So far it has been the story of Erika, not of Yoko.

I do agree that until now Gally has been a passive witness in a martian memories, but I think the goal is to develop Yoko and Erica's relationship (friendship, admiration, jealousy, rivalry) and to see how they have influenced each other.
Moreover as Erica is the main focus we are bound to feel empathy if not sympathy for her .
However I do think that last order stars Gally as its heroine, this is not the original Gally but she shares the same memories, experiences, and until volume 10 she is convinced she is the one and only Gally. And she is kind of right as the original brain is then out of commission.
well to be honest this is the whole point of the manga, what is humanity exactly? does it stem from organic parts? be they brains or bodies? or does it stem from something ethereal like the soul, and can a soul be replicated by a machine? I am convinced that at some point in the story both Gallys will fuse the way m'badi did to reach a new level of consciousness. And by keeping her sanity she will prove that indeed this other gally was just a part of herself.

Yoko has become pretty much a silent protagonist in an rpg game or something similar like Gordan Freeman in half life. Also I feel like Yukito Kishiro would enjoy writing anthology series for sure, I mean he did it in the first battle angel, than last order and he still wants to write his series in an anthology story style. I was hoping he wouldn't rely on writing it like an anthology again

Being serious, yes, that's what Kishiro wants to do. He wants to write interlaced stories in his world. Gally had already her full character arc of self discovery and identity building. And even her living happy everafter. Now it's the story of this world that goes on.

Still going on with that kinda-comedy tone it seems, but at least that kauffman's arc means we are getting closer to the panzer kunst training. We got a cute girl in a bath towel though, which doesn't happen often with Kishiro.

he did mention that man being the key person to them becoming weapons last chapter, so it would most likely be true

I'm kind of seeing the story like a fractal. At each juncture there is a branching pattern. New characters, plot elements, and so on. The narrative follows one of the branches, and then it branches again. It's a little hard to follow, reading once or twice a month. I'll have to catch up and read a whole plot arc we there is enough there. (My daughter continuously re-reads the earlier issues, so she follows it better.) Hopefully it will all start to converge at some point. But if it doesn't, well, I like how there is all these loose ends there to jump back to at some point.

On one hand I'm intrigued; on the other hand, it was a bit too much - I felt kinda overwhelmed by all the new names thrown at me in such a short chapter. I get that Kishiro is going through some health issues, but - putting aside my lack of enthusiasm for this whole flashback - it feels like the pacing has been a bit off lately.

One small nitpick - on page 13 there's "the survivors where (...)" instead of "the survivors were (...)".
