It will be better as a fast read when it is done and you read it in one big whack. The Vampire era was like that for me...the dark times when I kind of stopped reading the monthlies...then it was among my favorite parts upon the collection.

Also wanted to say Erica is such a hypocrite she made Yoko cried when she killed Yoko's mother at around chapter 26. My dislike for Erica just keeps increasing she is such an asshole

Well can't blame you, after all a lot of the veteran users in this site aren't interested as well and their active dates are good prove of that. Berserk still has loyal follower see the skullknight forum and so much users still comment for chapters even though the wait is like an eternity

Well, that's partially true - the manga itself has lost it's punch, it's too slow-paced and introduces lots of new characters who are hard to keep in mind between releases. Each time I read a new MC chapter I constantly kept trying to recall who the fuck are these guys, that's why I've stopped reading MC after the Muster arc until enough chapters build up so I can read them all at once.

Moreover, that crap has started somewhere around LO11 (several volumes full of meaningless karate characters with no relation to the main plot) so I've stopped reading it for a while. For me personally my beloved GUNNM has died at the end of LO10.

Btw, one of my favourite parts of it was the vampire story which most of people consider lame. What to say - even my wife looks somewhat like Vilma (and thinks about making a cosplay of her one day ).

What about the forum - lots of people have lost interest in the manga and moved on with their lives, you know. I check the forum sometimes but rarely log in (and post even more rarely) - I don't have as much free time as I had before and if I have it I prefer to spend it with my wife, see interesting places, hang out with people offline, or work the hell out in a gym. Basically, I've moved from being an otaku to being a normal person with diverse interests.

And I've also managed to get us both invited by a huge corporation and move to Japan (it's been around 8 months already) and we're having a great job with a great salary (it's big even for Tokyo), sitting in an office with the best view in Japan (Shibuya Scramble Square building, one of the middle floors - a direct view at Yoyogi park and Shinjuku). We're both doing the only thing we're good at - making photoreal Japanese girls in 3d (for commercials).





An interesting thing - even after half a year in Japan my Japanese is zero. It has turned out that English is enough to live without any difficulties even here (and we're working in an international team so it's not required at the workplace too).

I've also forgot to add: I've been right about the movie all along. A lot of people either consider it the original (when asked about it) or answer "I saw the anime, movie is way better.". Nobody at all cares about the manga - even after I explicitly tell people about it. Even in Japan.

Wow the photos are freaking gorgeous, I love the architecture it looks so clean and beautiful, also wow you lost interest at volume 11 my tipping point was at chapter 12 mars Chronicles, the story is too incoherent, Last Order was at least coherent, lots of meandering but meandering I could enjoy as I read the series at late 2014 so Last Order ended too quickly. Living in Japan must be amazing

edited: Also Berserk is impressive people are giving up for battle Angel, while berserk can still keep people's interest for years and the latest chapter had a universally loved reception and I'm one of them who enjoyed the chapter so much.

Yup there is very little migration from the hollywood blockbuster audience to the anime/manga community.

I've been saying the best thing would have been to have a full length anime for Alita, we would have much more activity on here and maybe Kishiro would be motivated to work more on the manga.

But even having the possibility of getting an anime would be in a perfect world where Disney doesn't have Alita now.

Seems like you are just hating on her, yeah.
Her words were not meant to be taken literally.
Erika had to do that, because that was the best possible route. Thus being better for Alita.
That guy did not give a fuck about Alita, when he was their "the best possible route" right now.
Different cases, different cases.

Berserk has way bigger fanbase, so no wonder there are more people that are willing to come back from time to time. At least Mars Chronicle is way better than any of the Berserk arcs.
People that came from the movie were also scattered here and there. For example, there are different subreddits and discord servers.

Have not read Muv Luv, but Alternative does seem interesting. Others not so much.

Yep apparently I read an article from polygon that confirms it, that we will never get an anime as long as James Cameron owns all media rights for battle angel, I guess that's just how it is I'm afraid

hmmm, reading those mini-chapters, this is getting a bit weird to me. The art seems to be going away from its usual tone and the writing is a bit unnatural imo, like some pages were skipped. I guess the author is trying to compensate the low number of pages or something? It just feels off to me. Like reading a doujin.
