Selling my copy of Bugbuster

Post by gastrocnemius »

Hello Ripper's Anime Forum! I've been lurking the forum for a while now to get the scans of Mars Chronicle. Hope you liked the Alita movie.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm selling my copy of Bugbuster (1989) on eBay. It's a really nice doujin that part of me hates to let go, but I need to down-size for my new apartment. Really liked the artwork in this one -- very refreshing (I detest Kishiro's current style), and feels like more of an 80s manga, a bit reminiscent of Dragon Ball. The story was less sophisticated than Battle Angel Alita or Aqua Knight, but I expected that from a doujinshi. I was still impressed by the worldbuilding, which is a unique sci-fi (dystopian?) setting. Juy is a likeable protagonist, just like Alita and Ruliya. The story clearly influenced Battle Angel Alita and Aqua Knight. Juy bears a stronger physical resemblance to Ruliya, but at times she acts a lot like Alita. Should warn you: It's written entirely in Japanese.

If you're interested in buying, Bugbuster is on eBay for $150. Really not trying to gouge you on this (it cost me $200 to purchase): http://ebay.us/RHLDON?cmpnId=5338273189

Yeah, I think his artstyle was the best when he drew Last Order, also would be interested if it was in English, but can't understand Japanese, curious how did you get a copy of bugbuster in the first place

Would anyone be interested seeing this book scanned and translated?
I could buy and scan the book if there is an interest.

Definitely, would be nice not waiting for chapters and instead see a completed work.

I missed this post since today, did you get the book, ^Ripper? I am also interested in those scans, though probably that doujinshi is going to be published as a bonus with the omnibus release of GLO.
