okay i was banking on Alita getting into a lesbian sitautionship with Mui, the MVB Priesterin, but i hadn't considered whether Kishiro's a fudanshi

tho i massively disagree with "very little fanservice" and it being in-comparison, Muster's libido cannon is just kinda there and he's not really drawn in any way that's suggestive

Truth to be told, Gunnm would be a bigger hit if there was a reasonable amount of fanservice. I know that brawls count as fanservice too, but even in this regard the series is lacking nowadays. Ok, the kunstlers troupe came to fix that, but the years without adult Alita and inversely the amount of screen time on Muster took their toll.

Bit perplexed at how direct fanservice (as you'd want it) would in any way help Gunnm's popularity. I started reading cuz the movie had motorball, then the manga had action, then the manga had deeply engaging character work and Homecoming (the side story with the wandering Deckman). Tho i guess getting back to older Alita would get some readers back cuz currently someone with passing familiarity goes "hey what's going on in the new chapter?" and instead of getting Alita doing cool shit, it's Zoe, Muster, and Erika doing cool shit, and then that reader just loses interest

(tho it seems that Kishiro just likes writing for Muster can't blame him, "I'm being punished for future crimes" is one of the coolest character motivations i ever saw when first reading

Mars Chronicles overall definitely has been mixed some stuff I found terrible( Damjan, gyapollo,were absolute waste of space that didn't lead to any good payoffs nor stand out on their own and the orphanage arc lead to nowhere and was unresolved), but I love the worldbuilding and lore that the series has provided such as the MBV, nanomachine pillars, 100 year civil war, grunthal, super AIs and etc. it is this installments greatest strength as it is consistent with what was mention in previous works and feels like we are only scratching the surface

Fan service is not my preference, but whether included or not does not matter for me as that is not what i am after for this manga and although muster had a unique and interesting motive i think Emio the smiling man had a stronger backstory and character writing on how to write tragic serial killers very well still emotionally impacted by Emio one of the strongest endings I seen in fiction very heartbreaking.

The fanservice thing was partially a joke. Compared to many of us here, you started reading like yesterday. I had to put up with lots of shit through the years, 25 by now. I have different expectations and my patience is worn out.

I did a little experiment translating with Google lens. I tried to make sense connetting dots and examining the scene. I could have completely mistranslated but overall i thing i grasped it.
