I saw one figure on yahoo japan for 5980 yen.... *looking for the link*
http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/108775375
Auction, no one has bid, but no actual pic of the figure. I would suggest to look there in the following days.

sorry to hear that dante!
when i saw the hlj listing i was at first a little jealous because it was cheaper than benippon and i had to pay back in early october, but it seems like it was really a luck of the draw thing - you couldn't have known they wouldn't be able to stock the item. at least you are not out any money... hopefully some will pop up on ebay?
at least you can console yourself with the phase 66 release!!!

so i was (unsuccessfully) searching around to see if i could stumble onto any other places to get these figures, and i found this hobby kit: http://www.hobbyfan.com/product_info.ph ... cts_id=152
looks like it was posted quite a while ago (2002) and hasn't gotten enough orders to go into production. it looks pretty cool but it's the type you have to build and paint yourself (artistic skills needed oh noes) and it's kind of expensive.

Ok, I checked yahoo japan again today for the unfortunate ones that are craving for one of the figures.
In http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/ you look for 銃夢
Today I've found 5 dolls for sale:
http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k47728496
http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/108794887
http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r41806607
http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k47773400
http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f57908064
I think more dolls will come up in the following days, although I don't know how high the price will go.
Of what I heard, to buy on yahoo japan the easiest seems to be http://www.crescent-shop.com/ since most of the seller don't offer international shipping.
Hope this is of some help guys!

>_< !
OK. *deep breath*
HLJ.com has the figures in-stock but they aren't shipping until the 25. The kicker is that on the order/ pre-order screen it says that i never placed an order with them yet i HAVE the e-mail that says i did.
What the hell am i going to do?
*Edit*
Well, it gave me the option to place another order so i went ahead and did it again. Still says it won't be placed into the database unti lthe 25th so im crossing my fingers.

mine came today
it is a little smaller than i expected (i didn't actually look at the measurements before i ordered it) but it is VERY cool. the pieces are very small and are pretty easy to pop off (possibly a side effect of the articulation of the joints? almost every part is on a ball joint so you can pose her) so be really careful not to move her around where you might lose pieces or your pet/little sibling/child might take an interest in scorfing down a hand or two!
this is may be apparent from the images but there are two sets of feet (rollerball and regular), two full sets of hands (flat and fists) plus an extra left hand for gripping the damascus blade. she comes with a base and some pole parts to hook her into to hold her up.
there is an extra sheet of eyeball stickers taped to the back, which i have no idea what to do with. there are some instructions folded up inside the gaiden novel in japanese that involve cutting them out, water, and q-tips, but i have no idea what's going on there and i'm leaving town for the holidays in like an hour so i don't have time to scan them. someone smarter than me please help?
there is some vaguely humorous engrish on the box. the gaiden book is the same quality as the other last order tankobon, with a few of the first pages of bashaku ando in full color (i think they were in color in the ripper scanlations as well).
overall i am very pleased with the purchase and consider it an excellent christmas gift to myself. while the quality of the figure makes it seem a little expensive (it is good but comparable quality figures aren't usually as expensive), the rarity of the item makes it worth the price!
PS HUGE thanks to those on these forums and especially tigerfan for letting me know about this figure!!! i am so glad i have it!

mail from hlj

Second, unfortunately, we need to apologize profusely for an stupid clerical error on our part that occurred over the weekend which resulted in our mistakenly canceling most of the orders on file for the "Comic Gunnm Side Story w/Figure" (http://www.hlj.com/product/SYU08061). The message you received about our being unable to fill your order for this item was completely mistaken, and sent in error.
