Hi there
I have been reading the whole LO but only the translated ones, not the raw, so this theory might be proven wrong already, but I was thinking.
Could it be that Vares created Anomaly?, he suppously leaded a war defending the use of nanotechnology, and mbady opposed him with his crew. Now aparently everyone died, except for him and Caerula, but if you pay atention to what he said to her before the tournament, or to what Ping Wu thinks of mbadi, I dare to say that mbady had only two chips when he faced Vares, Vares being one of the tipheriasns (like nova) who arrived to Ketheres, but he reveled and the war occured, so at the end, mbady defeated him, but unable to contain his evil, he assimilated Vares in his brain, becoming even more powerfull, but, kind of corrupted by him (although not entirely), so thats why his personality changed from being the hero of the war, to becoming a cruel chariman of Ladder.
Thats just a theory, but could be right., what do you think? does any of this is explained later in the non-yet-traslated chapters???

when Mbadi faced Dr warez, he had only his own chip. That's only after that he gains several chip (now 3, and he's called trinidad now). It's Dr warez who proposed him to transplant his chip in his brain, becoming "duodad". And afterwards Mbadi used the same technic to merge the 3rd chip. It's explained in the last phase, the 73rd. (if the translation is correct of course, but I really think so).
Concerning the theory of anomaly, it could be right on my own !!
ciao ciao ! and I'm really waiting the script of the phase 67 & 71, so we can understand the whole out phases !!!

it is said in chapter 69 or 70 i thinkthe_maxx wrote:Wow that some awasome info!, just some questions: How do you know Vares started the grey goo on planet Mercury? where does Anomaly comes from, I mean, how does he gets in the tournament; he doesn't look sentient really, someone must have put him there to compete.

I'm pretty positive that Mbadi had no brainchip of his own, and he has still his original brain, u can see it in the sort of xray scheme in orbital lift meeting. All of the three brainchips he has, as he tells, came from different genius from Salem or Thyphraes, if i write it well. I wonder why Vares is quoted as the second genius from Salem. Probably there where one before him that has been either matusalized or his brainchip has been preserverd after death. Don't forget the whole brainchip stuff, and the existance of Salemite population himself is basically an experiment about intelligence development and attitude control. Did u notice that all Salemites are blond whit bright eyes? Assuming the many references on nazy history, see the nazys on Mars, the Bearjack cannon, and so on, i wonder if the salemite where originally designed as a reference about the "arian race".

I think Mbadi created Anomaly. I haven't read anything beyond what's translated, but i'm 99% sure of it.
It's fairly simple, really. First, he had a couple of months to study nanotech following Nova's capture. Most people forget that there is a timeskip from when Alita leaves Ketheres to when the ZOT starts.
Second, the ZOT is being quoted time and time again as an instrument to weed out unwanted troublemakers.
Combining these 2, together with the knowledge that Jim managed to create Sachumodo within a week, can easily lead to the conclusion that Anomaly is the instrument that Mbadi uses to "win" the ZOT and turn down the prize.

The Salemites are not aryan nazis, they look mostly of african descent, and that really isn't what Hitler had in mind for aryans.
Maybe youre thinking about the tipherians?

Well, here in italy the cities around the orbital lift are Salem into the atmosphere right over Scrapyard, and Jeru in the space, that combined are supposed to recall the Jerusalem above the sky from the Bible, i guess. The blondies are from the lower town, were Ido e Nova come from, brainchipped and so on.
