Unless I am mistaken, Gunnm Complete edition brings Hyper Future Vision (the first series) minus the last 100 pages (no longer to be considered) plus the extra stories (Sweet Night/Holy Night; The Sonic Finger; Homecoming). The nine original volumes are republished in a bigger size (the same one of Last order) in six volumes.

Once we have all this here, I have to ask: why do so many people insist in finding such scans?

There's supposed to be an alternate ending in the complete editions. I mean, it can't just end with her dying! Apparently a DVD comes with one of the volumes too. I'd even translate it if somebody finds scans!

I will have to check with my Japanese stores.
There's no guarantee, as it is not a new product, but let's try.

Nope, the only alternate ending is that (like Sergio said) everything after Alitas incident with the doll bomb is discarded, is not canon any more.
Alita dies ... --and then GLO starts. No Melchizedek- hacking, no Lou- rescuing, no Tiphares- Ketheres-flower.

But there are some extra artwork- pages in the Complete Edition, kvhokuto posted some pics in this thread: http://www.rippersanime.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=313
BTW: Are you a j.-e. translator? We are always in the need of one ;)

Sure Kishiro is a genius. o_0 Also, it shows how it all COULD possibly look. Something insane.

All right!
As the complete editions have six volumes, just tell me: is all the additional stuff in the sixtx one?

if i remember correctly (i lent them to a friend), there is nearly no additional content in the sixth one, every thing is in the 1-5 volumes.

mostly a timeline, the 3 extra story (chrismas carol, sonic fingers and another i think), and details about the PSX game
and theses sketches, of course.
Edward Abbey Society is like a stew. If you don't stir it up every once in a while then a layer of scum floats to the top.
Helder Camara When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.

Excuse me, friend, but I couldn't understand anything at all.
What do we have in the 6th volume? No additional content? So…?
Where are the extra stories? Where are the sketches?

I have to insist because, in case I find the books in my stores, I do not intend to buy something that will be useless.

I do not think so. Usually, such products are wrapped in plastic, even for their preservation.
Because of that I asked which would be the indicated volume. Anyway, let's see!

Even Joseph Smith? That is despair, certainly.
I have an idea. The French edition is sensibly cheaper than the Japanese one. Supposing they are the same (our French members can confirm that, I think) we could make a campaign here. In Amazon Canada, each volume costs Can$21.95, totalizing Can$131.70 (or US$110). Thus, if the interested members can send US$15/each to this site, we will soon have the total necessary to pay for the entire collection (freight included). Thus, ^Ripper could order them, make the scanlations, and everyone would be happy.

What do you think? It is better than paying about US$60 for an used Japanese edition.

Obviously, we would have a retranslation once again. Anyway…

Lets say I tried it. Took me 10 minutes and I can't do better since I'm not good at this  It's still crappy but at least its sort of white now...

@Sergio: kvhokuto said those pictures came from volume 1. The extra stories must be in vol. 1, 2 and 4 (because we always wondered why there is no "extra story #3", because they are named after their volumes)
That leaves vol. 3, 5 and 6 with unknown extra-content. But, didn't the extra stories we have today originally even came from a french scan? So there must be someone with them out there already...
Just checked it, Trebicyem is the name behind the extra-stories-scans.

Thus, we just have to locate Trebicyem. Perhaps he has the entire French edition scanlated (or knows where to find them).

Meantime, let me ask:
1. Does anyone knows how to contact him?
2. Where did ^Ripper's Anime find the extra stories?
