IMHO Alita's "body" was "destroyed" due to Jupiter's operation: Glass Cat, which will fail for sure for the reasons pointed out by Isidorios (Alita is not the black cat).

Holy Shit man! You actually makes sense of most of the whole manga, I'm really impressed.
