Post by Freuy_McRae »

I saw this about 10 years ago reminded me of Alita when she was among the junk at the beggining of the series.

What do we have here? Lesbian gynoids or lesbian cyborgs? Os is it a cyborg-gynoid affair?
Here you have a transcendental mystery. Anyway, it is Björk, so it is obviously (and always) great.

A male chip in a female body? Man, you have just summarized the secret fantasies of many queers. Or does it refer to dykes? I am lost.

I was thinking about sechs male body or maybe a salem citizenship initiation goes wrong (even in salem shit happens, alot). But a queer fantasy... thats a good one LOl if I see one I'll ask him about it. By the way dont know if you guys had discussed about how panzer kunst would look like in real life or kishiro's inspiration for weaponry?

 I know some homosexuals - male and female. I will ask them. Actually, the most jokes I have heard about homosexuality I have heard from homosexuals themselves. No one can deny they are usually good-humored.

No, we have never discussed about Panzer Kunst in real world, even because it is a martial arts for cyborgs. Anyway, Figure Four dominated it as well, after a sort of reverse learning.

Indeed, but figure isnt that acrobatic or fast to simulate the real deal but fare enough for a fight. The nearest thing to panzer kunst would be "I robot"...yes the will smith movie or at least thats what I thought when sunny fights with other two robots and does some sort spin in the air.

Interestingly anachronistic. A sort of high-technology machine and an old-fashioned cathodic tube TV.

As I had never seen that word (scanline), I had to check the web.
I found this definition in Wikipedia: A scan line or scanline is one line, or row, in a raster scanning pattern, such as a video line on a cathode ray tube (CRT) display of a television or computer.

In short, exactly what I said.

I knew about that, but I've meant a completely another thing. I've just looked at the cheap machinery materials and understood that.

Anyway, both meanings are right in this exact case.

But it is a conceptual absurd. The human brain is preprogrammed to operate two arms/hands and two legs/feet, and is obviously programmed to bisymmetry. At least on this planet, all vertebrates are that way. Either that thing is a brainless machine or it is a big mistake.

Maybe was too much time inside the box, remember that gally was almost speechless at the begining of the series when Ido found her, but agree with the part of big mistake beacause that thing looks pretty much useless.

Or just trying to say that people always want to emulates whatever the stupid box tells, trying to achieve some certain physical ideal but when they reach the so called ideal its just not enough and in the end fall in frustration like brainless machines.

Dont know..just saying :|

Björk's video always reminded me way more of the safeguards in "Blame!". Btw I haven't heard this in ages, very nice.

Also, it is interesting how avant-garde this was in 1999! This is years before Apple decided to go with it's current white-style and even more years before "I Robot" came out. Makes me want to watch more videos by Chris Cunningham :D

To me Björk sound like a girl with braindamage, unable to sing a fluent sentence in a song, lagging in pronouncing words...
I dunno, somehow i don't like it.

The Gynoid thing was nice tho :)

[edit]
Specially for sergio :P

One of the many songs that made me WTF.
I dunno, i like some structure in a song, she makes it sound like she has a severe case of brainlag...

Trailer for Real Steel

Completely different story and most likely low-brain hollywood popcorn, but I like the sounds of this. The creaking, crackling, stuttering and squeaking of the gears and all the mechanic parts moving bending, breaking... this is what I imagine motorball and scrapyard city to be. Dirty machines with mohawk haircuts, lot's of violence! :D

Too many points in common. If they are not imitating motorball, they do pretend pretty well.
