200-100 years ago, germans were crazy about ancient times and tried to do everything right. E.g. in german it is "V
ergil" unlike in many other languages, where it is misleadingly "Virgil".
Also with callipygian, the germans tried to be close to the original word (Καλλίπυγος), calling it just "kallipygos" here. So actually there is no real german word for it, translated its "prachthintrig", though (but I suppose for a foreigner this word does not sound very sexy, haha)
