I end up rebuying what I got years ago. Makes sense though, I don't think Ashen Victor as a standalone story works as well without the tie in to the main series. Another tie in that would make sense to include is the Iron Fist doujin that YK came out with featuring the character basis for Ido and his rocket hammer.

To me Ashen victor is the weakest of Yukito works. I wouldn't buy it again for sure, unless if it is shoved down my throat attached to some new edition of BAA that I want.

I thought I was the only one who didn't like it that much. The art style was too similar to Frank Miller's sin city like Yukito's original art style more and the story was weak

few hours ago kodansha usa told someone on twitter that v5 will have original ending & redone ending which setup last order with an explanation on both endings so i'm guessing after original ending chapter there'll be explanation page of original & redone ending then we read redone ending?
v5 got delayed to mid october with holy night & other stories still oct 30th

Ashen Victor is nothing short of incredible to me. Way better than Aqua Knight (and I really like Aqua Knight!)

Just in case anyone wants to know, in the digital version (and so likely the actual print version as well), it had included the original ending from after Alita blows up from the Baby Bomb, along with the following notice:



Of course what the "redone ending" is, I'm not sure, I'm only aware of the "original ending", and the digital edition only has that.

Frankly I'm just glad the original ending was included, even if it's appended with a notice denying it's "canon status".
