no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
For anyone wondering or hoping for release for the 33rd chapter of Mars Chronicle there is none as although it was suppose to appear in the 8th issue of evening 2019 it is absent and will most likely appear on issue #9 evening 2019 (4/9/2019).
I'm starting to become indifferent and desensitised to this release date situation and the pacing of the story.

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
4/9/2019 as the American "April the 9th" or the reasonably concieved "4 Septermber" ?
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
right don't know why i did the american dating system as I meant 9/4/2019 in other words April 9th 2019. Meanwhile at Kishiro's 52nd birthday he received some sake how nice.MrFaber wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 6:09 pm 4/9/2019 as the American "April the 9th" or the reasonably concieved "4 Septermber" ?
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
This sucks. Mangakas like Kishiro or Kentaro Miura (Berserk) that start lifetime long mangas and become lazy and uninterested as the years pass by are a pain in the ass. That’s why I prefer reading short to medium length mangas (Dorohedoro, Knights of Sidonia, Claymore) where the authors are able to plan in advance the length and the ending of the series, these are the best ones to follow. These or episodic mangas like Yotsuba To that may go on indefinitely without much trouble since they are "slice of the life" mangas usually.

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
i agree i don't like series with an overarching story that is very serious and not slice of life genre to last too long it makes me anxious but this series has made me feel desensitised to this installment's future content it's possible to win back my excitement but not easy right now steins gate is a much better sci fi story than mars chronicles as that series maps its plot points quite well and also rewards audience who re watches it as it makes you rethink about the series.kamugin wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:46 am This sucks. I thought battle angel could surprise or be on par on my favorite sci-fi story in all forms of medium Muv-Luv alternative but I was dead wrong that series is still the greatest sci-fi story I have seen right now.
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Currently I am reading Narutaru (Shadow Star) https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2394 one of the many mangas I have in my "to read someday" list, it is old and already finished, plus a number of other series that I also reached the "wait for the next chapter to be released" point, like Ajin, Azumi, One Punch Man, DeDeDe, Aposimz, Houseki no Kuni...

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
this is why most of the time i don't read ongoing series but only very few. I like to read finished series currently reading dorohedoro up to chapter 13 for that series it's ... original and post modern I will give it that it certainly weird me out sometimes, though the weirdest manga by a long shot is still henshin no news still no idea what is going on with that series. Promised neverland is another one I'm reading as well kaguya sama and Real is something I still want to continue reading but no chapter has been released in 5 years still counting it's by famous author takehiko inoue himself, manga like real is what makes me anxious to read ongoing though sometimes there's exception like when I know authors pump out chapters quicklykamugin wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 5:36 am Currently I am reading Narutaru (Shadow Star) https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2394 one of the many mangas I have in my "to read someday" list, it is old and already finished, plus a number of other series that I also reached the "wait for the next chapter to be released" point, like Ajin, Azumi, One Punch Man, DeDeDe, Aposimz, Houseki no Kuni...
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Probably you will come to like more Dorohedoro, 13 chapters read means you are still in the beginning, still adapting to the pace and "weirdness" of the series. I do not hesitate to place it among the very best manga I have ever read and also it is the most original one. "Promised Neverland" I started reading but somewhere short after the kids flee from the orphanage, I have lost momentum and stopped, now the series is in my "on hold" list. Exceptionally this manga is being released in Brazil now. In the same status (on hold) are High Rise Invasion, Origin, Infection, Back Street Girls, Btooom!... Man, I read too much manga at the same time and often I lost track of some. There are even series that I started reading and then completely forgot about until someday I remember the story again but I can't go back because I forgot the name00_unit wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 6:00 am this is why most of the time i don't read ongoing series but only very few. With the exception of those who know how to read Japanese (someday I will), there is also the problem of the series that were dropped by the scanlation group.

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Out of the ongoing ones, I'd say that the author of Houseki no Kuni as well as the authors of Mahoutsukai no Yome, Golden Kamuy or One Punch Man haven't lost their enthusiasm, so yeah, these are definitely worth reading. (Still haven't read Dorohedoro, though.)
Ah yes, one of those "pretty good, a bit fucked up, and completely forgotten" series. It's a shame that the anime adaptation wasn't very good.

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Those titles have barely started when compared to Alita or Berserk, wait until they at least reach the 10 years of publishing to see if the authors still have gas to keep going.Silvery wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 6:24 pm Out of the ongoing ones, I'd say that the author of Houseki no Kuni as well as the authors of Mahoutsukai no Yome, Golden Kamuy or One Punch Man haven't lost their enthusiasm, so yeah, these are definitely worth reading. Both manga and anime have been waiting for years here in my HDs. I know its author likes "fucked up" stories and right now I'm in the mood for fucked up.Ah yes, one of those "pretty good, a bit fucked up, and completely forgotten" series. It's a shame that the anime adaptation wasn't very good.
I strongly recommend Dorohedoro, it was ^Rippers the one who suggested it to me, this manga will widen your perception of manga possibilities.
Other series that I recommend are Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Emanon, Shin Mazinger Zero and Seizon-Life. All of these I have recommended to 00_unit.
Thanks I will see if they can help me with a few series. In that case you might want to try this thread: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1482816

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
A manga I know that still releases at a very good rate depsite being it's 30 year run is hajime no ippo, crazyankan loves this manga a lot as he is a fan of the action genre in general. Hajime no ippo does a lot of things wrong in my opinion such as it's comedy and some of its side character only purpose is to give those said awful comedy. but what it does right as its action scene being conveyed very well for a boxing manga and it's skilful panelling that gives that nice sense of eye flow some very compelling main characters, the other main characters are annoying. Also the opponents are interesting adversaries as well. Some reader just don't value eye flow and panelling in manga. Battle angel I consider to have really good eye flow not all the time but most.kamugin wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 7:32 pmThose titles have barely started when compared to Alita or Berserk, wait until they at least reach the 10 years of publishing to see if the authors still have gas to keep going.Silvery wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 6:24 pm Out of the ongoing ones, I'd say that the author of Houseki no Kuni as well as the authors of Mahoutsukai no Yome, Golden Kamuy or One Punch Man haven't lost their enthusiasm, so yeah, these are definitely worth reading. If you want to see manga that shows you even more possibilities of what manga can do I recommend Henshin no news, I didn't like it that much, but let's just say it is an experience you will never forget and won't experience anywhere, only read it because the author also made one of my personal favourite 1 volume manga Boku wa Mondai Arimasen. As I was in the mood for anthology kind of stories
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Nobody mentioned The Ravages of Time?
It is also pretty long, with 550+ chapters and ongoing.
Well, I started it few days ago, so I do not really know if quality is still there, but so far it is pretty great.
Have some pages.

So far I haven't read many manhua, they seem to lack something to my eyes. But I don't refuse to read anything in the premise it is good, I have been reading a number of European comics recently.Cahir wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 5:49 pm Nobody mentioned The Ravages of Time?

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Ok, nothing THAT week, but what about now almost 3 weeks after?
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
no.9 didn't have it either....hopefully no. 10 will in a few days.
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
We should talk again about that plot to kidnap Kishiro's dogs...
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Well it's also not on the 10th issue either and according to the site the 11th issue is 14th of May which hopefully Mars Chronicles will resume then but I highly doubt it. Meanwhile Berserk will resume serialisation again this week so I guess that counts for somethingMrFaber wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 8:31 pm We should talk again about that plot to kidnap Kishiro's dogs...
edit: i think it's time to take kamugin's advice to let it go

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
I think Kishiro is fed up with his own manga due to the realization that he will have to draw it for the rest of his life if he really wants to tie up all loose threads. There are mangas running for over 40 years with no sign of a near conclusion (Glass Mask and Ouke no Monshou, both started in 1976!), thus Kishiro and Miura aren't the worst cases.00_unit wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 10:56 pm edit: i think it's time to take kamugin's advice to let it go![]()
Mangas are like whores in a brothel, there are plenty of them, if one is sick, just take another!

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Then i go a suggestion for Kishiro, if it doesn't want to keep publishing Gunnm: Wrap plots up a n get to the final! It's not like we need to see Panzer Kunst training, minute perminute.
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
At least this point I would even accept his rushed ending as the real conclusion. Still love Last Order a lot as that is one of the best manga for me, but if it goes at this rate the series then i would reluctantly accept his 1995 ending instead.
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Does anyone ever do fan drawn manga for abandoned (or slow) ones? I've seen rip-off/humor/satirical ones professionally done.
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
In a way we kinda already have a "final". Gynoid Gally accepts her own new persona and becomes the "Last Order" caretaker, allied with the quantum convergence observation units of earth and jupiter, while Pinocchio Flesh and Blood Gally is finally reunited with Figure Four and starts a new life on earth, probably at figure's fishers village.
If we don't care much of this mysterious Daisen (who does, anyway?) Mars Chronicles is all prequel and exposition.

Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
So I got my Mars Chronicle 6 book yesterday so the Japanese is now only 1 episode ahead of the American publication?! That seems to be the shortest publishing lead yet ever? I hope the movie didn't derail him.I really like the Mars stuff so far...hard to believe there are 6 books so far. We'll see.

Any light at the end of the tunnel?
Re: no Mars Chronicle log 33 this week
Nope recent issue for evening magazine came out no.11 and the series still hasn't return looks like it will be another berserk problem for this series.
