Westworld Season 3

Post by Martin »

Westworld Seasons 1 and 2 are great. Solid, classic American Sci-fi legacy drawing from 70's movies, Michael Crichton.

Tonight's Season 3 Ep 5 ....it is interesting and might appeal to people who really liked all of the Tipharean/Zalem Brain Bio-chip drama.

Westworld in general is an extremely complicated show to begin with, but if you liked that aspect of Gunnm especially, Nova telling them all that they are on chips, then I think getting into Westworld Season 3 might be up your alley.

I've watched season 1 last year and while I found it good in overall, it didn't impress me that much, so I've halted watching it there. The 1973 movie was totally different and had that "Terminator" vibe.

I like it very much actually.
Each season is quite different from the previous and that's very interesting.

It has, in the last one indeed, this kind of brain chip thing. Not much developed but in a way interesting.
But it's also a bit like Zalem, not in the bio chip thing but the "controlled life" way and Melchiezdeck.

At some point kamugin you will have to tell us what you "like" really, because it seems that nothing interests you anymore if we look at your recent posts  I mean, Westworld has a pretty decent rating in basically any website you can find! I know that doesn't mean much but you seem desperately bored !

I like everything that an average person likes: I like flowers, I like a beautiful sunrise or a sunset, the starry sky, tasty foods, pretty women, sex, freedom, the fresh air of the morning... but just last night I had perhaps one of the worst nightmares of my life, I saw death flights https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_flights and I had to flee blinded by the smoke of a wildfire... I have depression, man. I gulp down a handful of pills everyday, I flirt with the grim reaper. Now perhaps only a dose of heroin or morphine would makes me feel good.

You forgot mustard. That's basically what we answer in french because we have no distinction between like or love. So we can say "J'aime la moutarde" and "Je t'aime", which is clearly different.

Sorry to hear that. Never been in that state and don't want to be either. So basically cannot tell what it feels. To feel better, have you tried not having a depression ? Sorry, dark humour. Don't watch the road right away maybe!

That's a pretty common misconception, that depression is like a state of mind, a feeling and that you can talk someone out of it or that a depressive person can get out of depression if it have strong willpower. Depression is a complex condition that is a sum of an imbalance in the brain's chemistry, the brain’s structure and genetic predisposition that put all together makes you more vulnerable to the environment around you (or at least this is the theory today). So what you said is like saying "You have cancer, ok. But have you tried not having cancer?"

Well, I asked you what you like, and as the title of the thread is clearly about TV shows, you replied by liking flowers, starry night and stuff...

The point of my "Sorry, dark humour" sentence.

It seems that overall you cannot distinguish sarcasm and irony anymore from first degree talk. Irony and sarcasm usually help people to get through difficult times but if you cannot see through it, I'm sorry I won't do it again.

Sorry, sarcasm and irony are difficult to convey with written words only, I myself failed to do that a number of times not only here, but as well as in other forums and while using my mother language on top of that.

I like dark humor a lot, it is my favorite type of humor. If we aren't able to mock the pretense "serious" things from this absurd human world, we would get (more) crazy.

If you really want to know some of my favorite series, movies, etc. perhaps you will be surprised: Steven Universe, Equestria Girls, Final Space, Futurama, Monty Python's movies, Doctor Strangelove, Hair (musical movie), Grease (musical movie), Heartcatch Precure, Sailor Moon, Haibane Renmei, Hana to Alice Satsujin Jiken, Ga-Rei: Zero, Planetarian: Hoshi no Hito, Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni, Kill la Kill, Mahou Tsukai Tai, Yamato... among many others (there are no jokes in this list).

The thing is I am experiencing a particularly strong crisis of my condition, this makes me more pessimist and more ill humored than my average.
