By the way, what's going on? Panels are not superclear. I'm very curious for the script.

Man, these two (one actually) chapters seem more like a teaser, there's no story development. Yoko and Erica meet Gerda again and what we all are expecting didn't happen, Gerda don't take them as fucking pupils! And the action was a far cry from being awesome. There's a nitpick from my side, Kishiro always seemed very knowledgeable on the latest cutting edge development in actual weapons, among many other things, and the AAA (anti aircraft artillery or flak) shown in the first part was laugable. WTF was that!?! That wasn't good even for a WWII gun! Is it possible that he doesn't know the almost 50 yo CIWS systems? The Goalkeeper, the Kashtan? Laziness to draw is the only explanation I can think about.

CIWS I see those in battleships(they are like turrets) the pahlanx is a classic, ah hearing you talk about military weapons is making me think of the Muv luv alternative series where it is a great series that has some accurate military elements.

But yeah you are right in the aspect that the series is focusing less on story development on more focused on mystery development, world building(timeline building) and lore at the moment also it is a teaser but a good teaser well based on my perception and the amount of fiction I consume. Having no story development isn't bad per se I mean yokohama, nichijou and aria can make it work so it is possible how it is executed well that varies from person to person. Berserk sometimes suffer the same problem like the phallic monster and also the latest chapter which I dislike(the only redeeming factor was seeing the demon child). The dejah thoris soldiers being defeated was stupidly fast :D so I assume the story will advance soon, but this is just one man's opinion and disagreement can be interesting as long as we don't take it to personal levels fun banter is acceptable in my book

That city is built on a spaceship wreck and there's no rule against putting CIWS on land vehicles or fixed settlements. On The Expanse TV show we see CIWS put at good use in spaceships. Guns can work in space just fine.

Dunno where do you see "mystery development" on this teaser, man. And if there was, it would count as story development. What I saw was a circus troupe of kunstlers and Gerda throwing some lame jokes at Kauffmann/Keun. No fun at all Kishiro.
Unye was the only worthy krieger in these last chapters. Perhaps she becomes a kunstler and shape up those bozos into actual warriors.

You don't have time to fool around, Kishiro. The death of Kentaro Miura didn't teach you anything?! We want to see the end of this fucking series, dammit!

The mystery well I think so anyway is, the child with the doll might relate with the tgiv factory we saw like 2-3 chapters ago, I assume because the girl has a bandage on her head and she probably has some memory loss, it got me interested, also for those who didn't notice gelda was comforting the child as you see her number 44 seems she has a soft spot for children. Also the item gelda has and the ending has me curious though that is just me getting curious very easily doesn't mean I will like the payoff as sometime that is not the case.

Gerda has a soft spot for children because this is the stereotype of a mother, a woman's trait. Since they already have the... whatever it was inside mad scientist's brain... what are they still seeking for is indeed it a mystery, I'll give you that. The girl with the doll probably was a random mistake. However all of this was in the yet untranslated half, so we have to wait in order to know what is going on. But Knowing Kishiro, no answer will be given in any foreseen future.
To me the bigger mystery is how rats are able to eat artificial cyborg skin/flesh and why are there mice in Mars to begin with? Have we seen any other animal species in previous chapters? I don't remember.

Thank you, oh Gods above us worthless leeches.

Well, 00_unit, this time we've got some plot development, plus Gerda and Big Ma both have a soft spot for children, the stereotype of a mother, as I said before.
Keun is a badass... to me this was the greatest surprise, Unye has impressed me far more. Another surprise is that Gerda is ranked on the same level of the other bozos, sigh...
The pace this goes, it will take about ten years for Kishiro to close this arc. Let's hope he and us survive that long at least.

It does seem to be interesting, though the august release date is annoying once again, but you are right that is a typical trait of a mother. I think an impressive first impression was Yoko slaughtering those soldiers in Last Order that was brutal. Also Keun status, was surprising hope he displays more feats later down the line, Unye is impressive for a child, but the fardarig are as threatful as stormtrooper lol.

raws for 38 looks really interesting tbh, though that is just one man's opinion in the end you might react very differently.

Also good to see your still keeping up to date with Mars Chronicles.

Yeah, I complain a lot but actually I'm a sucker for this manga.

To think that at the same time I'm so many chapters behind a bunch of other series that I like.

Same here Same here, like you said the franchise impacted your life, so the sentimental value would be high, I can understand the complaints sometimes you just want to see the series improve, but it was more interesting than berserk's last chapter(imo just too much comedy)

Promised Neverland was one of them, but you aren't missing much the ending suck really bad, same with attack on Titan the ending also sucks a lot too.

And ending it on joke, Unye would be impressive if she can compete with this school kids feat, as she can do this and more ridiculous abilities (such as outrun a train)

Since the beginnings of manga and anime, the Japanese have a detestable tendency to screw up the endings of many otherwise good series, I'm almost used to it.

From which anime is that? Since you are into comedy these days, I strongly recommend you to watch Asobi Asobase (if you havent yet) https://www.erai-raws.info/anime-list/asobi-asobase/ It made me laugh so hard many times that my stomach ached, I regret it doesn't have a second season.
Another pretty good one is Aho Girl https://www.erai-raws.info/anime-list/aho-girl/

That image is from Nichijou- My ordinary Life (https://myanimelist.net/anime/10165/Nichijou), it is one of my favourite manga and anime comedy that I watch so far as it is slice of life it is absurd, funny and filled with a good amount of heart sometimes. I am surprised you haven't heard of it, never had mainstream success in Japan but in terms of viewer reception it was positive just fell into obscurity in the japanese market. I also like Arakawa Under the Bridge and the daily life of high school boys as well.

But those two comedy I actually put it in my wishlist and I will eventually get to it as I wanted to watch it, right now just watching FMA brotherhood atm

Of course I have heard about Nichijou and Arakawa Under the Bridge. The thing is, though I know very well that comedy in general relies heavily on the absurd and surrealism, there's a line that I don't like to be crossed. To me a gag ideally should be possible in real life even if it is completely nonsensical. When a show relies its humor far too much on surrealism and chaos it ceases to be funny to my tastes. Like when Brian (The Life of Brian) falls from a high place to his certain death only to be saved by a passing alien ship. This level of absurdity crosses what is plausible inside that world build. Of course this didn't ruin the movie to me, but it was a fail. However when a show is mostly composed of this kind of gags, like Arakawa, it doesn't flip on my laugh switch, it is just plain nonsense.

I probably recommend you this anime instead https://myanimelist.net/anime/11843/Dan ... o_Nichijou. Well standards for comedy for me are pretty low as I can laugh easily, some I didn't like though as my preference for comedy is as long as it is not too obnoxious, too annoying and doesn't come from a place of being too mean spirited(few exceptions but I hate that kind of humor). I can see you disliking slapstick humor then. I like Arakawa for its impressive voice cast as I found the japanese voice acting to be very solid as they are well known in the industry and how they emote the humor through voice acting is above average.

The anime comedy that I STRONGLY dislike so far was: baka test, is this a zombie, gurren Lagaan, and Kill la kill(the fan service was gratuitous AF, Mako is like listening to goddamn chalkboard getting scratch and the main character was TOO much of a hothead and a moron as I seen too much shonen protagonist have that trait and nudist beach made ME RAGE QUIT this is surrealism that is too much for me)

The anime comedy that I STRONGLY dislike so far was: baka test, is this a zombie, gurren Lagaan, and Kill la kill(the fan service was gratuitous AF, Mako is like listening to goddamn chalkboard getting scratch and the main character was TOO much of a hothead and a moron as I seen too much shonen protagonist have that trait and nudist beach made ME RAGE QUIT this is surrealism that is too much for me)
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, I know this one too, it is well recommended and I even downloaded and watched the first episode, it didn't please me but I should give it another try. Obnoxious and annoying characters, I hate them as well. The pesky child or baby, like Crayon Shin-chan and many many other characters. By the other side, I liked Gurren Lagaan and even more Kill La Kill, but I do understand what you disliked in them, since they are borderline annoying.

Kamugin you always find new ways to surprise me, Gurren lagaan and kill la kill shamelessly embodies shonen tropes and I know how much you despise those, I can see those who like it as being guilty pleasures by how stupid it is, but I feel like my IQ can drop by watching how moronic these heroes can be. But your assessment was spot in your enjoyment can be affected positively or negatively by your mood, and I am starting to believe you more.

Nichijou is not always absurd mind you it is a variety kind of show, there is heart and relatable humor like forgetting homework or rigged carnival games as well but there some ridiculous stuff like deer wrestling and a gun girl.

Nichijou doesn't follow a formula just watch these short scene it is not always a comedy and that is a big plus on my book, it's unpredictability and variety works well in its favor you won't know what you are going to get.

Also kamugin, thank you for responding, I know it might not seem like a big deal but I am grateful you responding so quickly too(EDIT: which is the first I seen from you tbh), I expected you to respond in a week and we can air out disagreements and still have fun talking, too much people i see can't accept disagreements and it is painful to watch.

Danshi admittedly is a mix bag, it's humor sometime relies on dragging conversation and banking on a final punchline kind of joke(not all shorts but some), but I like the 2 minute story episode structure as it felt easy to see shorts I was meh and some that crack a smile on my face (nichijou is a lot better)

You do understand me well in my highs and mostly lows. Gurren Lagaan I've watched years ago, perhaps I was more forgiving back then. Tipical shonen manga that are enjoyable despite having utterly annoying main characters are Air Gear, Tenjo Tenge and Ah! My Goddess! I wouldn't put Youko from Kill La Kill on the same level of those morons. The ending of Gurren Lagaan was heart-wrenching, to me it highlighted a show that was otherwise average. And in Kill La Kill there is a consistent and well entwined drama between the two sisters, this is the kind of quality stuff that made me bear a bunch of annoying side characters. As you can see, there's a particular level of tolerance, too much salt or too much sugar, the difference can be subtle.

Anime and manga can have a good blend of humor, action and drama, comics almost never reaches such levels. This is why we love anime and manga so much.

You take too high what I may say, I'm just a loser.
