Apparently the author was in mourning around new year time, so that's why there was no new year's illustration as he always likes to do that before.
Other than that no announcement of when the series will resume the latest thing i heard from him is him uploading another dog video in his blog at February.

Yukito kishiro updated his blog, and has confirmed he has finished plenty of drafts and manuscripts for more content of gunnm mars chronicles and he heavily apologises for this hiatus. So I think will see Gunnm Mars Chronicles either late april or early may.
