Yukitopia
Since many months, for the first time I visited the japanese version of the site and there are many more news than on the english one. Maybe all of you know that already though.
If not, this thread could work as a reminder. If you find something new or something cool on Yukitopia (jap. or engl. version), post it here! (or does a thread like this already exist?)
What I've found:
- For Sechs Fans:
http://jajatom.moo.jp/album/gallery.cgi?mode=view&no=60
- The whole gallery (including the recent cover, Bashaku Ando, Aqua Knight and the former Happy New Year drawings at the bottom):
http://jajatom.moo.jp/album/gallery.cgi (btw is this the sheep man by Haruki Murakami in the 2003 picture?)
- A little flash animation of a totally normal day as a tuned:
http://jajatom.moo.jp/y-flash/top.html (bottom of the page, click on the sign beside the picture AND can anyone tell me, whats up with this "word of gunnminst"? I can't open the *.exe)
- A second Manga on the special Stage, Iron Fist (seems to be a former version of Ido):
http://jajatom.moo.jp/ironfist/ironfist01.html

Its a screensaver.Cailon wrote:whats up with this "word of gunnminst"? I can't open the *.exe)
Actually, its a typo... it should say WORLDS not words.
As in Worlds of GUNNM instal .exe.

Nothing really special... some images (mostly locations from the manga) that fade in and out, with text in Japanese, probably describing what we see.
Nothing new...
As for the Yukitopia Japan...
I drop in over there every once in a while and dig through the links.
English version is really poor and lacking in updates compared to the Japanese one.
But look around you ...
Death and Light are everywhere, always, and they begin, end, strive,
attend, into and upon the Dream of the Nameless that is the world,
burning words within Samsara, perhaps to create a thing of beauty.

WAR-MEN is.crazyankan wrote:Very interesting with Iron Fist.
Does anybody knows if some of his early works are on the website also? Here are they I am looking for.
* Kikai (1984)
* Kaiousei (1988)
* Hito (1988)
* War-men(1988)
* Dai-Majin (1989)(Dai-Machine)
* Mirai Tokyo Headman (1989)
* Uchukaizokushonendai (1990)
English: http://jajatom.moo.jp/E-top/special/spe ... getop.html
Japanese: http://jajatom.moo.jp/other/specialstagetop.html
BTW... PREV and NEXT buttons get a bit confused with tabbed browsers. You click on them in the fourth, they start opening in the first tab.

Wow. I remember reading War-Men a long time ago, but I guess it didn't click in until now after having just reread it. The panels with the wall of pods with soldiers inside looks almost exactly like the battery towers from the Matrix. Is this just a really common image or did the Wachowskis perhaps borrow it from Kishiro?
I too would love to see his other older stories. Have they ever been published? Maybe he'll put them up on the Special Stage in future.

@Sergio: You'll find Iron Fist here: http://jajatom.moo.jp/ironfist/ironfist01.html
The clicking with prev and next is like denzacar said. (Or did you mean a translated version? No clue...)
@denzacar: thanks! Ok I will check it, it seems that i hadn't installed the latest Flash player on my pc.
In the afterword of my old german BAA 09 they say that a former manga already had Alita as a side or main character. The manga was "Rain Maker" (like the title of vol.06 in ger.).
Does any of those japanese titles by chance mean "Rain Maker"?
Second, it could be a coincidence but in "One Piece" they talk a lot about "kaizoku", meaning pirates. Uchu means space, so it could be the "Great space pirate boy" or something but my japanese is a little rusty
*coughcough*
And I have no idea where to get it. Maybe its not even scanned and will never be, because all editions are sold out.

I did mean a translated version.
My mother language is Portuguese. I can read in English and Spanish, but I have no knowledge of Japanese.

"On December 23, 1998 GUNNM Complete Collection, a Japanese special edition, was released in six volumes in a larger B5 format. They contain the original story, but with a different ending accommodating for the continuation of the story in GUNNM: Last Order. Included are also rough sketches, a timeline and the three short stories published earlier as GUNNM: Gaiden." from wikipedia
Anybody got the rough sketches and the timeline?

Sorry, just saw this... was away from forum for a while.crazyankan wrote:"On December 23, 1998 GUNNM Complete Collection, a Japanese special edition, was released in six volumes in a larger B5 format. Don't know about the GUNNM CC but in the GUNNM Gaiden there is a new and updated timeline.
Starting 1066 AD and ending 577 AS.
There are SOME sketches, but I guess that they are not much more than illustrations to fill in the space around the text in the final pages.
I am guessing that the text is about the series... can't be sure since I don't read or speak Japanese.

One slight problem.crazyankan wrote:Hito
Hito for 1 yen at Japanese amazon right now.
Anyone interested to buy and scan it?
While Amazon.jp does deliver around the world (even if they do rip you off for postage - 3700 Yen to ship a manga to Europe) - most of its marketplace sellers don't.
None of those listed there will ship to my address (Bosnia) or my friend's in Austria.
Anyone have better luck?

If you ever wanted to know, how Kishiro did this picture: http://jajatom.moo.jp/album/gallery.cgi?mode=view&no=60
you may look at this step by step instruction: http://jajatom.moo.jp/y-shosai/cn18/cn31/pg193.html (or at least look at the pictures
)
I think its his third instruction, after the cover of BAA vol.05 and GLO cover 02.

Maaaany new pictures and links boys and girls!
Yukito Kishiro's room in 2008: http://jajatom.moo.jp/y-shosai/cn11/cn5 ... 08top.html
Man! This is not a room, this is a high-tech store in a libary or a libary in a high-tech store. Also you can see stuff like weapon-models, action-figures and so on.
At the overview between 2001, 2004 and 2008 we can see a sketch of Taraba lying on the desk.
His drawings until BAA: http://jajatom.moo.jp/y-shosai/cn8/chro ... okuji.html
Its a long document with very much japanese text. I saved all the pictures, if you want to, you can download them here: http://sharebee.com/f7a18e30
Its a treasure box: early drawings of his childhood (like above^^), a glimpse at his earlier work, sketches like a sort-of berserker zapan head in 1988 and finally the fist BAA cover in the Business Jump (sadly a very tiny pic).
New instruction of making a picture (Leviathan fight): http://jajatom.moo.jp/y-shosai/cn18/cn1 ... tsu01.html
I added some of them into the .rar above, too

And it's true that amazon.co.jp doesn't ship worldwide, but that's what shopping services are for.
Kishiro's childhood drawings = priceless

If you buy Hito, I (and probably the rest of the site) will be forever grateful.

Really amazing, I didn't expect him to have a library _THIS_ big, even with professional librarian equipment.
Does he live in a depot? o_0
