I still find Isidorios' theory very convincing, that Alita reappears as if nothing has happened. But why is it that this technique "was recorded as [...]"? This sounds like it was successful. Nobody would record a technique that appears to have no effect

I don't see Alita coming back to win this fight. It would be really predictable and it would totally steal Toji's thunder. There would be no point in this whole buildup with Toji if he was just going to lose anyway. I say that Zazie and Sechs win their fights, and the Space angels win that way. Alita will probably come back sometime after the fighting is over and she foils the Jovian's plot to commandeer her body.

i belive in zekka really being the one extinglishing the light, so i guess nobody can win him, not even alita (i guess she only could dodge) but zekka still has the stronger body and the longer range, in fact, zekka can kill zazie wherever she is in the arena.
however i think zazie will give up since she shall come back alive.

From what I've seen on the credits pages of the chapters this time you really had fun, guys I am looking forward to see next credits. (Right now I am more anxious about credits than next chapters... I hope this mood will end soon )

Offtopic: and yeah, I am one of those silent visitors who stalk around forum for years, enjoy Alita's chapters and never say anything. Our existence was mentioned a courple of topics ago.

Guys, about the outcome of the individual fights I cannot make any hazardous predictions. Every fight seems somehow balanced to me (except that Rakan is scenaristically destined to be ripped to shreds as a tribute to the bunnies).

However, I can make an absolute prediction about the outcome of a match as a whole. There isn't going to be any winner, and maybe we are not even going to see the end of the Zekka/Sechs and Alita/Toji match. Have you forgotten Trinidad's wicked plans to use the "Sword of Damocles"? I definitely think he is going to unleash it before the end of the Zott. My guess is that he's waiting for the fighters to be exhausted and that he might decide to start the operation before a winner is decided. I think this will create a commotion and the remaining fighters will join forces to oppose trinidad thwart his plans.
As for the jovians, my opinion is that their plan was just presented far ahead of schedule, as an apetizer, but we won't see it in action in the near future.

So it was a "death" before she encountered Tunguska and became a/the cat-girl.

Yeah, I don't think you can count "impaled" by Rakan, either, since that was "mental manipulation" by Gally. In the next scene she is clearly just fine.

I agree. Any outcome of personal fights would be too predictible. So if we want to see something crazy and amazing in next chapters, we should pray the whole match to be stopped/interrupted/etc by Trinidad/plutonians/Arthur/pink elephants...
In such case I am only worried about destiny of Scrapyard. Theoretically, the winner of the match should receive it as a personal kingdom and decide its destiny. But if there will be no winners?..

Her brain was intercepted by Tunguska and crushed into smouldering powder......then bam! she's infiltrated his body.
Rakan actually feels his blow strike home, AND we are shown that he's impaled her chest. Taraba describes it as mental manipulation because like Caerula he's sensitive enough to remember the original outcome before she rewrites it. But Taraba isn't knowledgeable enough in Quantum Theory to understand exactly what she's done. So he writes it off as a lesser illusionary effect (like those used by the Starship Cult).
That's my theory, anyway.

Also, I cannot fathom this whole "fights are too predictable" stuff. I feel that most of the highlighted battles within the Z.O.T.T. have been interesting with some good twists.
It's like you guys are saying "Boxing matches are too predictable because one of them is going to win".

May be that's why I am not interested in boxing Ok, ok. So far Z.O.T.T. fights were actually interesting.

Setting aside all the buildup for 5 fighters (poor Rakan - I wish to see him annihilated ) and pathetic cries like "Oh no, after all those chapters I cannot bear the death of ...!", let's consider the buildup for the match itself. After all, it is the FINAL and the TRUE EPIC battle of the Z.O.T.T., which should influence LIFE OF MILLIONS. The battle is officially UNPREDICTABLE ((c) Arthur). It provokes even bystanders (earlier - Zekka, now - Trinidad) to participate. It is POLITICAL. And it is a GREAT HISTORICAL event.
Considering the above, what are the chances that the author would be interested in counting wins and losses of individual battles?
Not to mention that all participants agreed to fight until there will be only one winner. Kill 4 out of 5 remarkable characters just to "play by the rules" - well, it just does not sound like Yukito.
Compared to the overall picture, individual fights seem predictible. After all, each one has only four possible outcomes...

Yeah seriously, I think everyone was waiting for some kind of Alita-gobsmack. I was thinking it would involve Don Fua possessing Toji. If Kishiro is really planning to pad this narrative then it may be yet to come. But if the cat parable is going to play out fully, will we see a couple other "cats" besides just the "black cat" take a crack at him? Obviously jashugan's not coming back from the dead. But what the heck is Caerula doing? Who knows. Kishiro's clearly trying some crazy stuff here.

Also I think Kishiro's having a bit more fun with the art lately too. Was that pencil sketching I caught in phase 98?? Jeez do I eat that stuff up with a spoon!

What an interesting phase 99 is, though! Nuance for the fizziroy engineer, Alita making a thoroughly remorseless kill, against someone who hasn't recently committed some violation of fundamental human dignity no less. When was the last time that happened?!
