Is this true?

Is this true?

Image

I found the picture accidentally. I had never heard it was in post-production.

By the way: she doesn't look like Gally, but at least the original title is preserved. :)

Ah, you found that as well.

My impression was that it's fanmade. No definite word out yet when the movie will come out, Imdb has it at 2016 for now: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0437086/

No it's a prank. That girl is a cosplayer and that pic has been around since 2008. Trust me. I am a huge Battle Angel fanatic. You look up Alita cosplay and you will find that pic almost everywhere. And believe me there are alot of different cosplayers.

James Cameron admitted he doesn't want to screw up Battle Angel so he wants the best CG technology out there to produce a true masterpiece worthy of the graphic novels he loves so much (Terminator, Terminator 2 and Abyss were inspired by Battle Angel) He says he will definately not even start Battle Angel until Avatar 2 has come out in theaters, which he is working on now. He believes Battle Angel will be in production for 3 to 5 years and cost almost triple what Avatar cost. So don't let that horrible cosplay photo of Alita freak you out. JC said Alita will be completely CG as most cyborgs in the movie. You should worry about who he will get to voice her. O_O

Just now I notice, but the surnames of the "actors" are in Portuguese.
I found Polly Queiroz, and the "poster" on Facebook. In short, the pranksters are Brazilian.
Nevertheless, it is a great poster.

All right! Let me clarify.
I liked the idea - the rusty wilderness and the original logo reproduced.
As to the cosplay, excuse me, but I have never seen a really good one.

It's a fake, 100%.

I've seen it several times before, but I didn't expect someone to bring it up here - that's just too obvious.

Also, it's quite a bad cosplay.

This one is the best of which I've ever seen. Unfortunately, only one photo is available in the internet. Does anyone have more?

Also, this one is very good. Several more photos of the same thing.

Furthemore, here are many gunnm cosplays - some are good, some are a complete rubbish.

What about a berserker, this one is the best (and the most well-known, there were several topics about it here) - although the face doesn't match at all.

In short, nothing really good. If I had cosplayed Gally myself, I would have done better!

95% of them are very cheap and shitty, but what did you expect? A movie-level costume and makeup?

considering what some guys can make cosplay wise, it's a little sat to not have better costumes yet. that said, those aren't bad, as far as cosplay go.

Simply it's quite hard to "imitate" metal without iron or steel.
And about metal shaping it's lot of effort to even make Storm trooper.
And most of all, on cosplay event's its forbidden to have "real" metal objects.
So on cosplay level there are some people who shouldn't do cosplay of some characters because its more about body bulid.

Alita is soooooo pain in the ass to make cosplay becuse everything is metal and you need to have nice firm bottom, nice top (about C to B cup), slim body, lots of free time, technology to make "metal-like" elements, goooooood FACE! (Hair u can make with wig), will to make it, materials.

So in general its like 4 elements that doesn't depend on cosplayer. And 4 elements to be obtainable. Sooo effort is considerable..

As can be shown on deviantart.. there can be many good cosplays

Ichigo - Bleach
Cloud - FF VII
Morigan - Dragon Age Origins

anyway there is also this Sailor Moon

I think the Ichigo one is from FanimeCon; I may have seen him this past May.

As long as no one tries to crossplay Alita/Gally, all is right with the world.

This isnt the one I saw (the same fat dude that crossplayed sailor moon) but this is another one someone sent me after I mentioned it to them awhile back. But its still almost as disturbing.... especially if you look hard enough at the crotch area. *shudder* the world is going to hell.... *cry*

At least he has a detachable Damascus Blade and the black spandex doesn't make it too obvious unless you look.

At FanimeCon this year I saw a guy do Chocolate from Sorceror Hunters, but with the red top, not the suspenders. At least I haven't seen "Man Faye" (Faye Valentine, Cowboy Bebop) in person - Google at your own risk.

solarairhead, next time you can edit your post instead of having to post 2 follow up responses.

I didn't notice it was "he" until you've explicitly mentioned it. I've just opened a link and taken it for a generic low-quality cosplay. Damn.

I've seen it many times - it's an image from some viral commercial, which has provoked a scandal.

Is that so - all this time I've thought it was just a witty shirt design.

costume itself isn't bad, and avoid the metal problem. Alita's body is curveless enough to allow a man to not look too bad in it. Naw we only need someone with a smaller jawline and it's perfect.
