The second cosplay is Maetel from Galaxy Express 999, she has the lock on that outfit. Kishiro may even have based Vilma's post-apocalyptic appearance on her since they are very similar and GE 999 came out much earlier.

Is anyone of you going to cosplay too?

I recently decided to cosplay Vilma/Caerula next year and I also found some folks that are going to do cat!Alita, Sechs und Elf.
I am very excited to do her because she is absolutly great and has such a noble character <3 though I did not yet find ANY cosplays of her...don't know why.

The world can always use more Gunnm/BAA cosplayers out there! You're not going to FanimeCon are you?

Because of the risk of getting confused with Maetel I would suggest staying away from Vilma's impact winter fur outfit. The SNS one is more unique and you also get to carry around 2 jian instead of just 1!

Well sadly I can't go to Fanime because I'm from Germany and so don't stand a chance of going there ;__; (though should I ever win in the lottery, then I would definitely visit an American con; from what I've seen so far they seem absolutly amazing)


I thought about the SNS version but decided against it, because the con where I'm going to wear it is in late spring/early summer and I think I would die in such thick clothing XD plus, theres is a prom in the evening and so I think I will stick to the Qipao version she wore in Phase 52; sadly we have here in Germany very strict rules concerning weapons and already get problems if we want to get into a con with a wooden sword...that thoroughly sucks and is a great hindrance first and foremost if you are going to have photos taken. But I guess I'm going to craft the sword nonetheless and if I'm not allowed to carry it with me then I will be using a fan.

A real "die hard" would have gone with bleaching them hairs, botoxing the lips, wearing contacts and gone through Altered shock...

Nah, the robe looks great (and bloody).
Must have been a fun Halloween

Would be something if one could make a silicon mold out of her head, a matching wig, someone who knows movie makeup/sfx.
Lots of fake blood, freaking out the locals

For me it would be fun walking through the mall dressed as Freddy Krueger or Pinhead
