Thanks, man.
By the way, this volume is certainly depressing.

Well, if you follow a Game of thrones then it seems like a deja-vu...

I am sure YK is a aware of all things, global pop culture wise, but has there been any GoT easter eggs, or just an abstract analogy right there.

This is all a bit gratuitous, imho. We started LO with toddler Yoko on mine sweeping detail, so for the umpteenth reason, we get that the Martian War is brutal...Gally being this amazing warrior with memories of Mars was in Motor Ball. Then the girl with the grenade, the girl that gets squewered...things are bad, but at least Ninon was shaping up to be an interesting character, aside from the two primaries we know will live.
Spoiler:
Now that she is dead, the whole sequence is just a continuation of the status quot established in the first pages of LO...life on Mars sucks for Yoko and Erica.

O_O I'm I the only one that really is afraid YK is simply out of ideas?

I feared that the Orphanage would be a pointless chapter but... non like this. More or less we can forget the existence of this chapter and simply look to it as the two girls where just picked up after the clash. It reminds me a lot from the last chapters of Last order, where it was clear YK was buying time until the end. And now he doesn't how to pick up again.

Hope I'm really wrong...... please prove me wrong

Considering that, we can basically wipe out our memories of kindergarten while now that we are grown ups... That doesn't makes sense. I think Yukito is defining here the childhood of Yoko for us to understand her better when she is an adult. Everyone knows that your childhood up to 6 years old is what is mostly defining you as an adult. I refer to Freud there (if I'm not mistaken) with the "Id, ego and super-ego", in french, the "moi, surmoi et ca".

Imagine what could those events do on a 2-3 years old baby in building her own personality...

I'm just refering to it as an analogy here, but if you haven't yet then that's a good introduction!

I can see your point but we already saw her being kidnap and the mine field. Plus we saw her during training and she still was a little girl in the mind. I just feeling about the chapter and the point it has. Maybe it's just me.

I think the one that did child psychology was his daughter Anna that studied the field

Sorry I was generic. The one that studied and developed child psychology and very likely the author of the quote :

Was Anna Freud the 4 daughter of Sigmund Freud.

Yes Erica being older than Yoko we can see that she is more affected by the violence, maybe pointing to more hardened values later on. Yoko is a bit younger and seems less aware.

Ninon isn't dead. It's just a flesh wound. She still could be Frau X.

I never noticed Erica's hand before until I reread The beginning of LO.

Unless Nova comes and rescue her with his nanorestorers, she is pretty much dead, I mean, her eyes shows it quite well.

Yoko can't be 6 yo, she barely talks. She could be 4 tops but definitely not 6. I admit that 2-3 is a bit young, my kid at 3 don't even listen to what I ask him. So Yoko doing a complicated thing such as going on a pipe to open a door makes her around 4, I would say.

But maybe a senseless talk anyway...

I haven't had toddlers for ages, so I cannot trust my own memory, but would a 4yo child be able to follow instructions as Yoko did?

A reminder, there's the chronology that Kishiro put out in Another Stories that I asked Guren to translate:

[T] E.S. 370 – Yoko is born on Mars.
[T] E.S. 373 – Yoko meets Erica and Gerda (see Battle Angel Alita Last Order Phase.01)
