Awsome!
Just freakin awsome.
The amount of work, and time needed to create this is unreal.
Impressive.

Really awesome ^_^

Maybe you already answered this but, do you have plans to make a short 3D animation or something like that with your Alita model?

Hi, it's me! (I've resisted as long as I could, but I can't anymore... And I know you love me :P )
Somehow you've managed to fix her face, now she is pretty, I'm impressed!
Seriously, her eyes and mouth are quite something.
But she still needs to visit a hairdresser...

Thank you people!

That's because the hairs are nearly transparent, but the back light is strong - they get invisible where there isn't enough density. Don't worry, everything is fine - I wanted it to be like this.

Originally, they're long enough:
Spoiler:

This one is going to be done also (but I don't know when):
lo17prevs.jpg
The face looks quite weird in the wiewport because of the lashes angle, but everything will be fine in the result, I promise.

That explain things a bit. I thought you was using something like a provisory hair because somewhat it looks like done by paint brush (like watercolor painting) specially the left top of her head (when we look at her).

Her arms are stronger in the original artwork you provided, specially her biceps. Remember that our Alita has an athletic body.

PS: Those were rather serious and objective comments, I'm sorry. Right now I'm not inspired to make proper saci-like comments :|

I know that also, because it was impossible to do it - bulges were breaking the straight lines on her, so I've made them more flat.

It's easy for YK to have them right, because it's drawn, but if some looked good from one angle in 3d, it would look terrible from another. The only part where I've omitted them is biceps - everywhere else it's ok (spine, legs, neck, belly).

Also, the issue was to get all lines straight when she's deformed (for posturing and animation) - coming up with the solution has taken several months!

I think, a single bicep is forgivable in this case.

PS.
First adequate comment from you for a while, I'm impressed! Try keeping it up like this.
An advice - stop acting like a fool and everything will be fine. Also, try being useful - people will stop picking at you. Also, lay aside that idiotic saci thing - it annoys not only me.

Hairs in the 2D picture have more round volume.
Also the emotion on Alita's face is different. Eyes got bigger, looking right at us, lip-edges look down, lips opened.

I have an idea of how difficult is to reproduce all the complexity of the human body anatomy in a virtual 3D model like this, specially if you want to make it capable of being animated. Remembering 3D animation advance, it took many years to evolve from something robotic and completely artificial to the near perfection of Cameron's Avatar. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should reach such levels, your model is very good as an "one man effort".

Back to the muscles, I think other ones besides her biceps are a bit small, like the ones in her back and shoulders. Regarding only the biceps, perhaps you could take inspiration in the shape of fighter planes canopy (like the Mig-29 for example) to model them, if it isn't already too late go back.

And about the saci way of life:
Spoiler:
Man, since my first time using things like mailing groups, blogs and foruns I've noticed that, even when talking about hobbies and light subjects, people tend to be too serious. What gain we have being so serious about everything? Even about FUN?

What the world offers to us in abundance? Injustice, misery, religious fanaticism, crime, racism, terrorism, war, disease, environmental disaster and so on. The people who made the world like this are very serious, important, rich, selfish, greedy and ignorant. If you aren't blind and care a little about such status quo, you can get depressed and go mad. The better way to face such world and people is with (dark) humor, mockery and anarchy.

To help my explanation, here are some movies that I like a lot and take as reference of such state of mind: Monty Pyton's movies (add Brazil to them), Dr. Strangelove, Dead Poets Society, Man on the Moon (Andy Kaufman's biography) and Hair.

Outside here I'm a 38YO guy employed in the military doing a boring job in an airport and earning a meager salary. From home to work and from work to home, this is my funny life. If I take things too seriously I may commit suicide!

That's why I was surprised to see "Yoko von der Rasierklinge".
I haven't seen explicitly that name in the manga, that's why I've asked. Where did the second variant come from? Show me the source!
It took time, but here you are (from Viz's official edition):

Please, hide it into spoiler - I can't look at it (because I can't look at manga pages when I'm not reading it), but I beleive you.

I haven't seen Viz's official edition, so it's from there. Anyway, I'd like to stick to your guys version, which said "Kammer frau razor Yoko" - for me it's the only official version.

Know what? You're right! There are so many questionable points in Viz edition (especially spelling characters' names) that I wonder how professional translators can be so incompetent (or indifferent - actually, I've never known the difference).

No, but I've told you earlier: I read the manga only once in a year - I spare a week (or even two) and read all volumes from the beginning. Any time of the year except that week I can't look at any manga pages. That's why I never even look into translation topics.

And another one is done.
I've tried to match the page as closely as possible, but still it's not a 100% perfect match. Because that's impossible.

Also, I've zoomed it out a little bit, because I didn't want to lose the cool stuff on the sides. To be more exact, here's the crop for an original page:
Spoiler:
v3backcrop.jpg

And here's the image itself (1810x2500):
v3backs.jpg
PS.
And I've added arm and shoulder muscles to match it closer (as kamugin advised).
