Enjoy!
vastness is ok it fits the context, I was just translating the French which uses a colloquial expression equivalent to "all nooks and corners" and as in the game deckmen are mostly in building I just didn't think it was too weird when rereading the art book. I just wanted to remain close to the original, I think your change is for the better. My grudge is somewhat lessened.1st break
Actually, their first function was to explore all recesses of the solar system.
---> instead "recesses" I'd use "vastness"
your question makes sense but it is not what the French says(or a typing mistake) the word is exploitation.here deckmen are seen as mere devices/ressource and the subject of the sentence is how long deckmen have been in use.The exploitation of the first deckmen goes back up to about 300 years.
---> is it really exploitation? not exploration?
2nd break
The great advantage of deckmen was their faculties of adaptation,
---> instead of "faculties" I'd propose "abilities"
4th break
...their role being now reduced to simple operations, such as, for instance, signalling control.
---> "signaling", because signalling is BE
In the most forsaken regions, one may even happen/ chance to find completely rusty deckmen
---> I'd say "happen to find" is ok
well I tend to disagre on this point...the deckman technology consisted in modifying a machine by inserting a brain
---> instead of "consisted in", "consisted of"
Given that "consist" is followed by an action, my training leads me to put "in " rather than "of" in this case, all the more so since it is a verb. the dictionnary seems to back me up on this point. but I'd rather ask Sergio what his opinion is on the subject given that he is the leading authority regarding grammar on the site. did I say I held a grudge against you? no I was just a little hot tempered that's all.the deckman technology consisted in modifying a machine by inserting a brain and different body parts in it. Eventually, it was the opposite of cyborg making.
Actually, there is nothing wrong about that.Cailon wrote: While reading it, I noticed that not only AK 14-19 is not canon anymore, but: 1. the whole BK, Ak thing is later replaced by Era Sputnik
Change "skies" to "stars".One day, the skies in the night sky will burn out.
